Veterinary Laboratory Diagnostic Testing
At Windsor we believe in thorough scientific diagnosis. We have our own in-house laboratory equipped with a range of veterinary calibrated diagnostic equipment. It is staffed by qualified technicians who provide a 24 hour service. This enables majority of the samples to be analysed in-house, delivering speedy and accurate results. This can mean the difference between life and death in many cases.
Our laboratory is able to provide complete blood counts(CBC) to monitor for signs of anaemia, platelet deficiency, dehydration, inflammation or infection.
This is made up of :-
- Biochemistry panel to monitor levels of liver enzymes, kidney enzymes, blood glucose, total protein, pancreatic enzymes, calcium and phosphate.
- Electrolytes panel to monitor sodium chloride and potassium chloride levels.
- Complete urine analysis to detect the presence of blood, crystals, ketones, glucose and to monitor urine concentration, protein levels and inflammatory cells.
- PCV/PT – a simple but fast method to identify and evaluate disorders affecting red blood cells and total protein present.
- Cytology and Histopathology- microscopic examination of tissues and cells to determine the probable cause of a problem.
- Snap test (CPV.CDV,FIV/FrLV,HWT) – a fast but reliable test for canine parvovirus, canine distemper virus, feline leukemia virus and feline immunodeficiency virus as well as the test for heartworm.
