What is a wellness check? This is a medical check-up designed for senior pets to allow early detection of conditions that may arise as they get older, often before symptoms develop.
- A complete physical examination: covering weight, heart and lung function, temperature, eyes and ears, as well as skin.
- Blood tests: assessing liver and kidney functions, checking for anemia, and ensuring general health.
- X-ray: to identify skeletal deformities and tumors.
- Ultrasound: focusing on the abdomen, examining the liver, kidneys, bladder, and spleen.
Why Senior pets should have a wellness check? Often, by the time symptoms are noticed, a disease is already well established. Common conditions include arthritis, cancer, organ failure, dementia, cataracts, deafness, joint issues, hypertension, dental decay, cognitive disorders, and diabetes. Detecting these conditions early significantly increases the chance of successful treatment.

After the tests are completed, you will receive:
- A folder containing your results.
- A follow-up consultation with your veterinarian to go through the results.
- Recommendations for treatment if necessary.
We recommend a minimum of every 6 months for a wellness check, but your veterinarian may suggest more frequent checkups based on the age and current health of your pet.
